I had the following problems on updating my DLM plugin:
- I was not able to install the new plugin through WordPress, since it said I had the plugin already installed. The one I had installed was 3.3.6.2. When I deactivated and tried to install again, it said I already had a “newer” version of the plugin installed, so I downloaded the plugin and installed it manually through FTP.
- There was no info on whether to run the legacy import extension before or after installing and activating the new version of DLM. I chose after since that made the most sense to me.
- The legacy updater failed spectacularly. It only imported 19 of the 130 downloads it identified, and only about half of 13 categories. Then the Chrome tab it was running in (which said “Step 1” in the url string, went to a 404 page not found screen.
- I tried rerunning the importer (though I knew that felt foolish) and it just reimported the same 19 downloads.
- I am having to reimport the other 110 downloads manually. This is made more difficult because there is not a batch import feature that the old plugin had.
- I saved the html from my formats, but I haven’t created the content templates for them yet. I’m hoping this goes more smoothly than the rest has.
