As requested, here’s a new thread on some funkiness I am seeing since updating UpDraftPlus several times over the last few days (I believe going from .35 to .39). Initial problem involved a fatal error when trying to connect a new site to DropBox (authenticate) but that part of the problem seems to be resolved with the new version. Here’s what I am seeing now:
-I have UpDraftPlus running on a couple dozen client sites, but so far am only messing around with it on four: the brand new site where the problems started the other day, my own biz site which has been running weekly backups for a very long time, and two other client sites that are in development but not yet live (running on temp domains).
-Since updating to the latest version, the scheduled backups do not seem to be running. I changed them to every 4 hours to test this. Manual backup does work. Right now, it will say when the next scheduled backup is, but then the time comes and passes and no backup.
-When I wiped UpDraftPlus settings on my own biz site, and then re-authenticated, the new folder created for DropBox/Apps was called UpDraftPlus.com instead of UpDraftPlus (no .com) where previous backups had gone. I’ve actually seen this happen on several client sites in the past, but just rolled with it. As long as the backup runs and I can access the files in case of emergency, doesn’t seem like a huge deal but thought I’d mention it.
-Now when I have a site where DropBox is authenticated, if I make any changes in settings (like changing the backup frequency), after I hit save, I still get the pop-up box that prompts me to click a link to authenticate DropBox. I close out that box and it does still say I am authenticated on the main page. Again, no biggie for me, but new users might be confused.
-I am now noticing some error messages on my own biz site account:
Warning: You do not appear to be authenticated with Dropbox (whilst deleting)
But when I go to the settings page, it does show my account name.
In case it’s relevant, all of these sites are on Godaddy Managed WordPress. They use several different themes, so no common element there.
