You need to be a programmer to set this up

Not usable with modern WP themes. Other reviewers have already said it doesn’t work in the Twenty Fifteen theme. I expected Automatic to put out a more user friendly plugin (with settings and instructions) that was kept up to date with the current default themes. This sounded promising but isn’t usable.

The plugin was designed for WP default theme Twenty Ten. I wanted to use it with default WP theme Twenty Seventeen–so it is seven years out of date. The installation instructions just say install and activate it. There are no settings to set up. In the WP Plugins page for this plugin, the description has “On the frontend, use the Co-Authors Plus template tags to list co-authors anywhere you’d normally list the author.” Just what are the template tags, where does one find them, and how do you use them? I could understand if there was a settings page to set these up or if something would show up in the Write Post page, but there is no more information other than that. Not all users of WordPress plugins are coders so it shouldn’t be assumed that we we will know what needs to be done to get this to work. I did try to read the README file. It has some links to old documentation with samples for Twenty Ten and a much older version of PHP. I don’t trust that those function examples will work in PHP 5.6 or 7.
