new user registration (error: invalid address)

Hey,
I have an issue with the new user registration in my shop. I couldn’t find it anywhere.

When a new customer registers with a valid e-mail address, it gives me the error

Error: Invalid address: (setFrom)

and does not send registration mail to this account. However the account registers and can login.

What can I do about it?
