Users login and content customisation

So I’ve built a site that shows the release dates of various things.

I wanted to add a user sign up and area where users can add different release dates to a list that they’re interested (like a Netflix ‘my list’ or IMDb’s ‘watchlist’ if your familiar with them). I was wondering what this type of user customisation was called, and whether someone could point me in the directions of any resources to help.
