I have a four language site done with Elementor, translated pages in Polylang. Everything else has worked ok, but recently if I try to edit the German pages, Elementor will not load. This started only with the homepage but now it seems to occur on any other German page. Deactivating Polylang and Polylang Connect lets me get into Elementor and do the edit, but this is of course no good workflow. What could be causing the problem and how to solve it?

I was recently recommended to install the ‘really simple SSL’ plug-in to fix a few issues on my site when I purchased my SSL certificate.
However, though it worked brilliantly sorting out the forced https and the mixed errors, it also wiped all the ‘likes’ on my webiste.
Can anyone tell me what to do to get them back?
Thank you so much!

I’ve just started using the plugin and I ran into a problem right away, but Tom has been great and we are getting it figured out. The plugin looks great and I’m looking forward to using it to the fullest.

I have only used the free version so far but I have found it to be superior to some paid products I have used.
I have used it on 3 sites so far and will be getting the pro version to use its expanded features.
Looking forward to further development.

When I use a custom colour background (e.g. black/sepia) on the web version of my site, the slider image, header and some parts of my media carousel disappears, replaced by the colour of the background. However, when I use it on mobile, the header image on my site does not disappear. Only the slider and media carousel image does.
Is there a way I can isolate images and prevent them from disappearing using custom css?

There is no documentation on the syntax used to add tags to a product when it is created via API. “tags” is a valid property returned in the response from creating a product, but this attribute is not shown in the product attribute list. I have tried a few things but the JSON is not working. Should I post the ID or the name? Is it an array, array of objects or array of arrays.
Thanks.

Hi,
When Updraft is backing up a database in the dump process mysqldump does not set the –single-transaction flag so it locks the database table while the dump process takes place. This stops other processes from being able to connect correctly.
Is there a way to set the –single-transaction flag on the mysqldump process?
Cheers

I can reliably reproduce a bug wherein the use of the display-posts shortcode within a post will change the global post – and not reset it. Here’s my PR to fix it in the down-stream podcast plugin, but the problem really exists either in display-posts or in WP.
https://github.com/TheCraigHewitt/Seriously-Simple-Podcasting/pull/465
The symptom is that as soon as get_the_excerpt()
is called within the podcast plugin, the post global is changed as evidenced by a call to get_the_ID()
before and after get_the_excerpt. If I remove the shortcode from the body of the post – the post ID does not change.
I looked into the display-posts code and it certainly seems to be cleaning up after itself properly, which is why I ended up submitting the PR to SSP!

My posts have my site name appended to the post title tags, as follows.
<title>Post Name | Site Name</title>
It’s bad practice to put the site name in the title tag. It was done in the early 2000s but since then Google and all major web browsers don’t need it anymore, and it’s better to leave it out.
How do I fix this?
On my regular theme pages I have the site title removed by using this code.
// Remove Site Title from Page Title Tag
add_filter('document_title_parts', 'my_fix_post_title', 1);
function my_fix_post_title($title){
if (!is_feed()) {
$title['site'] = '';
}
return $title;
}

I am using conditional logic in the submit button to show it based on the condition of a select field above it.
The select field named ‘Product’ is of the single type. The first option has a label of Select
but no value (so it will treated as an empty option).
In the conditional logic of the submit button I put Show if Product field Is not Select
. Forminator doesn’t let it stick on ‘Select’ option and instead it defaults to an option called ‘Select option’, I am assuming because ‘Select’ is an empty option anyway. But it works as I want i.e. the submit button is hidden until any of the real options (with a value) are selected in the Product select field.
All things being equal, if I try the same again however this time the select field is the multiple type (where the select becomes an opened out box and multiple options can be chosen by the front user). With this field I didn’t add a first empty option with a label of Select
, like the single select field had, because it’s not necessary and I only want to present the actual options.
So in the conditional logic of the submit button I put Show if Product field Is not Select option
, i.e. the default option ‘Select option’ is still there. (in both the single and multiple select fields Forminator defines the result as ‘Product is not null’).
But the way it works now is that the submit button is always visible, rather than hidden until a non null option is selected.
I think it’s got something to do with the single select list is actually selected on the first option automatically. So I added a first option for the multiple select field with a label of Select
but no value just like I did with the single field, and tried this with the option both checked on ‘Selected’ and not selected. The result is the same, so can I confirm that a multiple type select field can’t let the submit button (or other fields) use conditional logic based on it.
Using this is handy because in the single select, the submit can be hidden until any of the many real options are chosen by the user with one conditional logic rule. In my form I’d ideally like to use both though (single and multiple fields).
Thank you.

Hi,
Just something I noticed in the changelog to the latest version:
I mentioned a few threads ago that when a user registers, and they get an email to activate their account, that the full WordPress login info (including any hidden login information) was then transmitted to the user, which is why I turned this feature off.
Is this option now repaired, or is it still a WordPress issue?
