Changing Image Permalinks

Hey all. I noticed on my site that many of my picture are not getting picked up by search engines. When I looked at my sitemap I was able to see that many of my image’s permalinks are under one post. Would this effect the SEO of the images. If so how do I change these permalinks to the original posts of the images?
