I’ve taken over looking after a site that has a custom theme that seems to rely on the genesis framework.
Assuming I didn’t miss anything logging in, I updated the site from 4.7.2 to 4.7.3 and a second sidebar appeared on the homepage. It’s not referenced anywhere as far as I can tell in the WordPress UI
I attempted to remove the sidebar by adding new code, but got an error from it. When I went to remove the code via ftp, I noticed that what I was trying to do had basically already been done before. Which is to disable/unregister the alt sidebar – see the functions.php below. So my question is can anyone help fix this? I assumed that 4.7.3 was just a minor security update. I am only new to this aspect of WordPress and would appreciate any help I can get
